Barry Bates is the managing member, CEO and director of InsideValuation Partners, LLC.
Bates has been in the valuation corner of the corporate mortgage industry for 37 years
as an appraiser, bank branch manager, construction project director and as chief valuation
officer at several national financial firms. Just before forming InsideValuation, he
served as portfolio due diligence VP for ClearCapital; property valuation manager for
Morgan Stanley Mortgage Capital; and portfolio valuation manager for Countrywide Securities;
between 1994 and 2001, he served as chief appraiser for The Money Store and Ameriquest
Mortgage Company. In 1992-1994, Bates managed Wells Fargo’s commercial appraisers for
Central California and set up the Bank’s first 100% electronic residential appraisal
department (33 appraisers) in the San Francisco Bay Area. He also managed national accounts
for First American’s AVM and data business. Bates is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
